A show plate, also known as a display plate, is a number plate made for decorative purposes rather than use on public roads.
Unlike a road-legal number plate, a show plate does not carry the required British Standards markings, such as the BSAU 145e marking. They can also be made with different styles, sizes, colours and custom character spacing, allowing you to position the characters however you like for your desired look.
They’re commonly used for:
- 🚗 Car shows and events
- 📸 Photoshoots
- 🏠 Garage displays
- 🎬 Film and promotional work
- 🏁 Private property
Can I use a show plate on my car?
Show plates are for display purposes only and should not be used on a vehicle driven on public roads unless they meet all applicable legal requirements.
At Redline Plates, we offer display plates alongside our range of road-legal number plates.
